Extended Family Sessions In Kalispell, Montana

I get so many requests for extended family sessions throughout the Flathead Valley each year. There are so many families who travel to our beautiful area for family reunions, big anniversary celebrations, weddings, etc. Because these sessions do involve a lot more planning, coordinating, and many different groups of photos, I only book a few of these each year. If you’re considering an extended family photography session in the Kalispell area, here are a few things to keep in mind…

1. Book early, since again, I only book so many of these each year.
2. I do not offer event photography such as a family reunion but I will schedule an extended family session on another day with up to 20 people.
3. Extended family sessions are for one family with multiple family units involved. For example, Parents + Kids +Grandparents, or the same combo plus another related family unit of Parents + Kids. These sessions are not intended for two unrelated families to do a combined session.
4. I only offer large extended family sessions in Kalispell, Whitefish, Columbia Falls, etc. If you want to book a session in Glacier National Park, I only photograph up to 8 people in that location due to limited parking and crowds. I want to respect others’ enjoyment of the park so I limit how many people I am photographing there.
5. It’s important for the person booking the session to communicate my photography style to everyone included in the session. I do take some posed photos but I also take a lot of candids so I want to be sure that everyone knows what to expect and that I don’t need kiddos to be looking at the camera and smiling at all times.
